eXplore Bellevue

Bellevue, WA Community

Bellevue’s celebration of Earth Day is returning to the beautiful Bellevue Botanical Garden with a day full of environmental fun and education. EarthFest, scheduled for Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., promises an immersive experience that highlights environmental stewardship through a variety of engaging activities.

The family-friendly event will feature everything from hands-on worm play and guided garden walks to informative sessions about Bellevue’s clean energy rebate programs, all designed to inspire community members to embrace sustainable practices.

Free and Open to All

The second annual EarthFest requires no tickets or advance registration, making it accessible to everyone in the community. Attendees can drop in anytime during the four-hour celebration to enjoy interactive arts booths, participate in educational garden tours, or attend clean energy workshops.

The event also offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest updates to the Sustainable Bellevue Plan, offering insights into the city’s environmental commitments and future goals. With activities designed for all age groups, EarthFest nurtures environmental awareness in a fun, community-focused setting.

Refreshments and Plant Sale

Visitors can enhance their EarthFest experience with refreshments from the Copper Kettle Coffee Bar, located inside the Garden. The coffee shop will serve beverages and light snacks throughout the day—perfect fuel for a fun-filled outing. Additionally, the Northwest Perennial Alliance will host a special plant sale, where guests can purchase native and garden-friendly plants. These selections not only beautify home landscapes but also support local ecosystems and sustainable gardening efforts.

Encouraging Sustainable Transportation

In keeping with the event’s environmental mission, attendees are strongly encouraged to use sustainable transportation when traveling to the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Whether biking along Bellevue’s scenic paths, taking public transit, or utilizing the BellHop shuttle service, reducing your carbon footprint can begin with the journey.

Engaging and Educational for All Ages

Past EarthFests have featured expert-led garden tours focused on native plants and sustainable gardening, alongside interactive booths where attendees of all ages could engage in hands-on environmental activities. This year’s event promises to bring back these favorites while introducing new features to keep things fresh and exciting.

EarthFest 2025 is shaping up to be a vibrant celebration of sustainability, learning, and community connection—all set in one of Bellevue’s most stunning natural spaces.
